Encyclopedia > Christy Gaylord Everest

Mrs. Everest is the Publisher for the Oklahoman. This newspaper has been owned by her family since before the Oklahoma Statehood in 1907. She is leading an effort to upgrade and modernize the newspaper and is attempting to return it to a Pulitzer Prize winning newspaper.


Mrs. Everest cares very deeply on many social issues and is also on the Oklahoma Board of Regents for Higher Education.
