At Billboard, he has worked as Senior Editor/Talent, Senior Writer, Radio Editor and columnist of AirWaves, and Managing Editor of Top 40/AC for Billboard Radio Monitor and Billboard’s Single Reviews Editor.


Taylor has written page 1 profiles on artists that span the decades, from Celine Dion and Britney Spears to Diana Krall, Elton John, Bette Midler, James Taylor, Tony Bennett, Barry White and many more. In all, he has interviewed more than 300 artists.


He has been interviewed on an array of music and pop culture topics on such programs and networks as ABC's “20/20,” “CBS Evening News,” CNN FN, VH1's “Behind the Music,” MTV, BBC and E!; and has been quoted in the New York Times, USA Today, TV Guide, People, Parade, Entertainment Weekly and numerous others.


His broadcasting experience includes an on-air stint at country WWOD Lynchburg, Va., his hometown, as well as voiceover work for commercials and theater. He hosted Billboard's weekly online countdown at billboardradio.com, from its inception in March 1998, through January 2006.


Taylor hails from central Virginia, then lived and worked in Washington, D.C., for 11 years, and now lives in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y.

Billboard Radio Monitor was a weekly music trade publication that followed the radio industry and tracks the monitoring of current songs by format, station and audience cumes.
The magazine was a spinoff of Billboard magazine and was mostly available through subscription to people who work in the radio industry and music chart enthusiasts.
On July 6, 2006 VNU, the parent company of Billboard Radio Monitor, announced the acquistion of Radio and Records, which became a part of the Billboard Information Group a month later on August 1.
