Lawton, a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, was baptized into Christ as a teenager by the late S. Dudley at the Twentieth Street Church of Christ, St. Petersburg, Florida.
Lawton has been preaching the gospel forty-six years and his experiences are numerous.
Lawton is perpetually busy speaking on National Lectureships, College Lectureships, National Youth Conferences, and conducting Gospel Meetings and Evangelism Seminars from the Gulf to the Great Lakes, and from the sunny shores of California to the skyscrapers of New York City.
