Convergence and Unity (Convergčncia i Uniķ, CiU) is a political party in Catalonia, Spain.


It is a coalition consisting of Convergčncia Democrātica de Catalunya and Uniķ Democrātica de Catalunya. It is seen as conservative nationalist.


It was led by Jordi Pujol until the November 2003 Catalan elections. The current leader is Artur Mas.

Canadian Institute of Underwriters (CIU) (2953 words)
The Annual Meeting of the CIU shall be held in June, or such other month as determined at the discretion of the Executive Council, and shall not conflict with any major national or religious days of special observance.
Special meetings of the CIU shall be called at the discretion of the Executive Council or upon written or electronic request of not less than 20% of members.
The funds of the CIU may be invested in such securities as recommended by the Treasurer and approved and directed by a majority vote of Executive Council.

Ciu is probably the best known of the Chinese students who attended the Anglo-Chinese College in Foochow and then came to Wesleyan to study.
He is listed under Ciu in the annual Catalogs of students as attending Wesleyan for the years 1913/14 (sophomore) and 1914/15 (junior).
Although Ciu studied chemistry, political science and teaching, when he returned to his native country of China, he chose to be a missionary.
