The small town of Circleville, Ohio is home to the famous Pumpkin Show, billed as "The Greatest Free Show on Earth". First began as a small market in the early 1900's for farmers to display their goods, the event has swelled over the years to envelop the entire downtown and includes contests, parades, rides, and virtually every pumpkin influenced food imaginable. Circleville is a city located in Pickaway County, Ohio. ...


This spectacle draws nearly half a million visitors from all over the United States and world during its 4-day run every third week in October, making it one of the largest festivals of its kind in Ohio and the nation.


Every year on Thursday, The Pumpkin Show has a parade of bands, featuring high school bands from around the state. Some of these high school bands include Teays Valley, Circleville, Logan Elm, Marion-Franklin, Johnstown, and many more. The parade of bands brings in a large crowd every year.

Last year's pumpkin pie weighed over 350 pounds and stretched 5 feet in diameter and took more than 80 pounds of cooked pumpkin, 36 pounds of sugar, 13 gallons of milk, 12 dozen eggs, three pounds of cornstarch, one pound pumpkin spice, 1 pound of salt and 30 pounds of pie dough.
The city's famed pumpkin is proudly painted on the one-million-gallon water tower using 1,300 gallons of paint.
Circleville is approximately 25 miles south of Columbus (in central Ohio).
