The Circuit Bremgarten was a 7.28 km (4.524-mi) race course in Bremgarten bei Bern, Switzerland which formerly hosted the Formula One Swiss Grand Prix.
From the outset, Bremgarten's tree-lined roads, often poor light conditions and changes in road surface made for what was acknowledged to be a very dangerous circuit, especially in the wet.
The Bremgarten Circuit was one of the original rounds of the Grand Prix motorcycle road racing World Championship during the inaugural season of 1949 and from 1951 to 1954.

In 1949 was Gilera klaar voor de strijd en in de tweede GP van dat jaar op het glooiende parcours van Bremgarten in Zwitserland pakte Arciso Artesiani al een 2e plek in de 500 cc klasse.
Eind jaren ’90 kwamen ze weer terug op de circuits en in 2001 en 2002 wist Manuel Poggiali wederom de Wereldtitel te bemachtigen, nu in de lichte 125 cc klasse.
Gilera is nog steeds een merk van wereldfaam en de kwaliteit en prestaties worden nog altijd geroemd, of dit nu op het circuit is of op de weg.
