The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is an operating name of The National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, (and also the name by which it is principally known), a United Kingdom registered charity which is partially funded by public funding. The CAB has a wide-ranging brief, but principally is involved in the provision of information to the public on a range of issues, including debt management, housing, asylum, complaints about consumer issues, etc. Allegorical personification of Charity as a mother with three infants by Anthony van Dyck Charity is a term in Christian theology (one of the three theological virtues), meaning loving kindness towards others; it is held to be the ultimate perfection of the human spirit, because it is said to both... Debt is that which is owed. ...


It is the largest volunteer organisation in the UK with over 20,000 advisers in 900 locations. It also lobbies Parliament for changes in the law.
