It was directed by Kátia Lund and Fernando Meirelles. It stars Alexandre Rodrigues, Leandro Firmino da Hora, Jonathan Haagensen and Douglas Silva. In the mid-1960s, Little Zé (Leandro Firmino da Hora) and Bené (Phellippe Haagensen) are wannabe gangsters in the dangerous Rio de Janeiro slums called Cidade de Deus ("City of God").
