The City of Prospect is located in the beautiful rolling hills in far eastern Jefferson County and far western Oldham County.
The city is comprised of spacious residential homes, luxury condominiums and apartment complexes, and a number of businesses conveniently located in a centralized shopping village.

Prospect is a city in far northeast Jefferson County, Kentucky, along the Ohio River.
Prospect is Kentucky's best educated city, proportionately, with 74.4% of adult residents (25 and older) holding an associate degree or higher, and 69.9% of adults possessing a baccalaureate degree or higher (2000 Census).
In the city the population was spread out with 27.5% under the age of 18, 3.7% from 18 to 24, 23.3% from 25 to 44, 35.5% from 45 to 64, and 10.1% who were 65 years of age or older.
