Encyclopedia > Clan of the Cats

Clan of the Cats is an urban fantasy Web comic by Jamie Robertson. It chronicles the adventures of a witch, Chelsea Chattan, who is also afflicted by an ancient family curse. In times of stress she transforms into a black panther. This, coupled by her increasing magical power, makes having an ordinary life rather challenging. The stories deal with supernatural themes mainly, but also creep into the realm of normal everyday life. The comic was first posted on June 20, 1999.

Celtic Studio-Clan Chattan (288 words)
CLAN CHATTAN, or the "Clan of the Cats," was a very ancient confederation of clans.
For 200 years the two clans feuded over the chiefship and in 1672 Cluny Mac Pherson matriculated arms as "the laird of Cluny and the only true representer of the ancient and honourable family of Clan Chattan." The chief of Mac Kintosh protested and the arms given to Cluny were withdrawn.
His death separated the chiefship of both clans and, in 1947, Duncan Alexander Eliott Mac Kintosh, descendant of the Daviot branch of the Mac Kintoshes, was granted the arms of Clan Chattan by the Lord Lyon.
