Classics Live

Classics Live was recorded at a time when Aerosmith was imploding from personal and musical problems. They were heavy drug addicts, their guitarists were leaving and coming back, and their albums were not selling well. The album is often regarded as a failure because of the new guitarists' performances, and the redundant song selection (most of the songs were already released on Live Bootleg). Even guitarist Brad Whitford said that he is ashamed to have this record in his collection. Live Bootleg is a live album by American hard rock band Aerosmith, released in 1978 (see 1978 in music). ... Brad Whitford is a musician and guitarist for the rock and roll group Aerosmith. ...

It is hard to tell which of the four guitarists played on which tracks, although, perhaps due to internal tension or licensing issues, none of the tracks contain songwriting credits for Joe Perry, except for the one Aerosmith song he did not play on in the studio version.

An unreleased cut from 1974's Get Your Wings is inexplicably attached to the end of the album. Get Your Wings is the second album by American hard rock band Aerosmith, released in 1974 (see 1974 in music). ...

Classics Live II

Classics Live II was mainly recorded on a New Year's Eve show in 1984, with all five original members once again reunited. Aerosmith - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (3190 words)
The live release Live Bootleg, originally released as a double album, was put out in 1978 and captured the band's rawness during the heyday of the Draw the Line tour.
The album was a return to roots for the band, including recording the album in live sessions, working with former producer Jack Douglas, and laying down their blues-rock grit.
It was followed by a live DVD, You Gotta Move in December 2004, culled from a performance on the Honkin' on Bobo Tour.
Nine Lives Lair (320 words)
The follow up to "Classics Live!" came a year later and was of a similar quality to the original.
All time classic, 'Walk this Way' is introduced with a 'Happy Birthday' sing-a-long to Tom Hamilton (new years eve) and is performed as well as ever with the new chorus style that evolved over time already in place.
It is interesting to here it live but it has always been a rather mediocre tune to me, although the mellow mid-section sounds excellent.
