Claud Schuster, 1st Baron Schuster (2 August1869–28 June1956) was a Britishbarrister and civil servant. He served as Permanent Secretary to the Lord Chancellor for a remarkable 29 years between 1915 and 1944. A life long mountaineer in his spare time, after retirement he was elected President of the Alpine Club. He was created Baron Schuster, of Cerne in the County of Dorset, in 1944 and this title became extinct on his death.
