Husbands received his primary education at Selah Boy's Elementary School in St. Lucy from 1931 to 1936, and secondary education at the Parry School and Harrison College from 1936 to 1946. After leaving Harrison College, he taught at the Parry School for three years before entering the Middle Temple to study law.
