Encyclopedia > Clinton Coot

Clinton Coot is a fictional character of the Scrooge McDuck universe created by Don Rosa. He was first mentioned in Uncle Scrooge Adventures #27 in Guardians of the Lost Library, first published in July, 1994. There he was introduced as the son of Cornelius Coot and the founder of The Junior Woodchucks, inspired by the book given to him by his father.


In The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck it is revealed that he is the father of Grandma Duck. In Don Rosa's Duck Family Tree, Clinton is married to Gertrude Gadwall and their two children are Elvira Coot (AKA Grandma Duck) and Casey Coot.


According to Don Rosa´s timelines, Clinton Coot was born in 1830 in Duckburg, Calisota, and died in 1910, aged 80, in Duckburg, Calisota.


He is named after Bill Clinton, who was the President of the United States at the time of his first appearance.
