Overview
The Clone Turbo Tank is a military assault transport from the fictional Star Wars universe. Seen in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the tank appears to be thematically related to the AT-AT (All-Terrain Assault Transport), but is probably not its forerunner, a distinction taken by the AT-TE first seen in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. The Turbo Tank was manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards for the Republic, and it saw service at the end of the Clone Wars. Interestingly, the tank was called a "Juggernaut" in the Star Wars: Episode 3 video game. Star Wars is a series of science fantasy films created by writer/producer/director George Lucas. ...

Capabilities The Turbo Tank's chassis appears to be similar to the AT-AT's, albeit reversed so that the "head" is actually the rear of the vehicle. Locomotion is provided by an unknown power source to ten oversized wheels on five axles, allowing the tank to operate in a variety of rough terrains. A unique aspect of the tank is that it has two cockpits; one fore, on aft, allowing either pilot to control the driving duties when the situation demands it. According to Star Wars literature, the Turbo Tank is 49.4 meters long and 30.4 meters high, although this height includes the "crow's nest" mast where a spotter can sit. Armament is listed as consisting of one heavy laser cannon turret, a rapid repeating laser cannon, 2 medium laser cannons, 2 twin blaster cannons, and 2 rocket/grenade launchers. To support the dual-cockpit approach, both fore and aft have chin-mounted blasters, resembling the blasters on the chin of the AT-AT. Turbo Tanks can carry an undetermined amount of clone troopers, cargo or equipment inside its spacious cargo bay into battle, and its proximity to the ground allows a much easier deployment for troopers than from the bay of the towering AT-AT, where stormtroopers had to rappel to reach the battle. Military Role The Turbo Tank follows a theme of role integration seen in Star Wars military hardware; much like the iconic Star Destroyers are not just warships but also troop transports and aircraft carriers, the Turbo Tank and its walker relatives are not just troop transports but also mobile operation centers and main battle tanks.
