History

The team began on June 12, 1912, when the club was founded by Héctor Pineda Ugarte, Carlos Bram, Arturo Bram, Enrique Buk, Santiago Buik, Miguel Sanchez, Samuel Inestrosa Gómez, and Ramón Field. Originally, the team was called Olimpia National and was exclusively a baseball club; however, in 1924, it also became a football team. The club was named by Santiago Chavarria, after the 1896 Athens Olympic games.
