When his friend Ernest (Jimmy Cliff) is threatened to be evicted from his beach-front property for not paying his taxes, Jack comes to the rescue and finances him, becoming partners in what they now call 'Club Paradise'. They take photos (using tricks, such as using a fish-eye lens to make their rooms look bigger) using themselves in different clothing and wigs - along with Phillipa Lloyd (Twiggy), a girl Jack is keen to impress - and make themselves out to be another Club Med. This attracts enough tourists (such as guys like 'Barry and Barry' (Rick Moranis and Eugene Levy), who are there for the pot and the women) for the club to be moderately successful. However, a developer (Brian Doyle-Murray) wants to run Jack and Ernest out of their property so he can build a massive expensive casino on the beach. To do that, he uses the help of the local prime minister (Adolph Caesar) and the prime minister's men to cause trouble and get Club Paradise to close 'legally'. When this doesn't work, the prime minister orders an all-out attack on the club using his troops. Jack, with a little help from his friends and even Governor Hayes, manages to hold off the prime minister until everyone realizes that the developer's ship has sailed off without them. Club Paradise is then free to remain in business, hopefully to attract more customers like Barry and Barry.
