History The team was bought out by Televisa in 2001 and transformed into a minor league affiliate for its first division team, América. The next year, San Luis qualified for the Primera División A. playoffs and later won a promotion to the Mexican First Division. Without much success, the team descended back to the Primera División A in 2004. It wouldn't take long for them to return though. Under the leadership of their former coach Carlos Reinoso, San Luis won their second promotion in 2005. They barely avoided relegation during the 2005-2006 season under the leadership of their new coach, Raul Arias. However, Club San Luis has entered into their first liguilla (post season tournament) this year and has made it all the way to the final (2006). By joining their former affiliate America, Televisa now owns three teams in the Mexican First Division.
