Coamo is a city in south central Puerto Rico, about 30 minutes away by car from Ponce.
Coamo is also known as a fishing town, it's proximity to the beach making seafood a favorite dish among people who live there.
Coamo doesn't have a large sports activity program each year: The city's BSN team Maratonistas de Coamo[?] is the only professional team to play there, and they have played in Coamo with mixed success since joining the league in 1985.
Coamo is the third oldest municipality in Puerto Rico, founded in 1579.
