1944 melodrama/adventure film from Universal Studios, written by Scott Darling and Gene Lewis, and directed by Robert Siodmak. Cobra Woman stars Jon Hall, Sabu, veteran character actress Mary Nash, and in a dual role, Maria Montez, the "Queen of Technicolor." This film was probably the zenith of Montez's career at Universal, and -- though it is relativey unappreciated by the general public -- it is venerated in gay circles as a camp artifact. Maria Montez was the stage name of María África Gracia Antonia Vidal de Santos Silas (June 6, 1912, Barahona, Dominican Republic - September 7, 1951, Paris, France). ...
