Cocacolonization or coca-colonization is a term for Americanization. Although it is sometimes used more benignly, often the term implies that globalization is either:

• a concept lacking depth and merely about the importation of Western or American goods, or
• a dangerous invasion of Western or American cultural values

The term is a portmanteau of the term colonization and the name of the giant soft drink corporation Coca-Cola which produces the product of the same name.
