The annual technical extravaganza of IIT Roorkee, Cognizance is galore of intellectually stimulating events held over 3 days which include Robotics, Innovation of the Year, Industrial Challenges, Design competitions, Gaming contests, Workshops, Guest Lectures et al. What sets it apart from the hoard of technical festivals, is the fact that it brings people from various academic, social and regional backgrounds in one arena to foster an atmosphere of learning, unlearning and relearning through an application-oriented approach, sets COGNIZANCE apart.
Over the years, the participation in Cognizance has seen exponential growth. In year 2005, in addition to more than 4000 of in house participation, it witnessed a participation of close to 1800 guest students from 300 colleges, including IITs and IIMs, which is double the number that participated in 2004 and more than three times the number in 2003.
