Colargol

px200 Colargol is an animated stop motion TV series filmed in Poland and produced in France. Based on the original idea and stories by Olga Pouchine, Colargol was first turned into a series of children's recordings by Philips in the 1960s. It is the story of a little bear who wanted to sing and travel the world. Realized by Albert Barillé's animation production company Procidis in Paris, the series was subcontracted to the Polish animation group Se-ma-for in Lodz, and animated by Tadeusz Wilkosz. Music was performed by Mireille, orchestration was by Jean-Michel Defaye, and the lyrics were by Victor Villien. Colargol was seen in Poland, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Norway, and was also known as Barnaby in the UK, and Jeremy in Canada (Colargol in Québec), the USA as well as some French speaking countries in West Africa, such as Bénin and Ivory Coast. Barnaby is the name of the British version of the Colargol animated series. ...


The series was produced from 1967-1974, comprising of 53 thirteen minute episodes.


The series was also turned into three motion picture films in Poland:

  • Colargol na Dzikim Zachodzie (Colargol in the Wild West) 1976
  • Colargol zdobywcą kosmosu (Colargol, the Conqueror of Space) 1978
  • Colargol i cudowna walizka (Colargol and the Magic Suitcase) 1979

Of the three series made available for norwegian television, the one where Colargol was in the Wild West was never shown, to much violence for the Norwegian audience....
The only Colargol item I have is the bear himself, I has his eyes intact, but no collar.
