The College of DuPage is a two-year community college, with its main campus located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The college also owns and operates facilities in Addison, Illinois, Bloomingdale, Illinois, Carol Stream, Illinois, Lombard, Illinois, Naperville, Illinois and Westmont, Illinois. The college serves students residing in Illinois' Community College District 502, which is most of DuPage County, Illinois and parts of Cook County, Illinois and Will County, Illinois.

The college was established in 1967 in Glen Ellyn, with temporary facilities at 22nd Street (now Fawell Boulevard) and Lambert Road. Due to the commuting nature of the college's early students, the Chaparral was adopted as the college's mascot. In sports, the college is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

For most of the college's history, it has offered classes in an eleven week long quarter format, with four quarters (Winter (January-March), Spring (April-June), Summer (June-August) and Fall (September-December)) in a single calendar year. As of August of 2005, the college will be shifting to a 16 week long semester format, with Fall and Spring semesters, and a continued summer program. The previous summer program would uniquely offer classes in three, five, eight and ten week terms.

Between 2004 and 2009, a series of construction projects will add an Early Childhood Education Center, a Technology Education Center, a parking structure, a Health Careers and Natural Sciences building and a Business and Community Education center to the Glen Ellyn campus, while demolishing three older buildings on the same campus. Other projects during this time period include athletic field and building renovations at the Glen Ellyn campus, and projects at their centers in Carol Stream and Naperville.
