Encyclopedia > College of Notre Dame

Founded in 1873, in Baltimore, by the School Sisters of Notre Dame, College of Notre Dame of Maryland was the first Catholic college for women to award the four–year baccalaureate degree. It continues to be the only all female undergraduate college in Maryland. The approximately 3,200 students study in 33 different undergraduate programs on its 58 acre (235,000 mē) north Baltimore campus.
