Collexis is a global company headquartered in the Netherlands. It develops software that supports the knowledge intensive market with tools to search and mine large sets of information.
Thanks to their international scientific background and experienced team, they have profound knowledge and understanding of knowledge management requirements and technologies.
The origins of the Collexis® technology are based in the public/government sector (see History section). To further develop and market the technology in the commercial sector, Collexis as a company was founded. Collexis is the owner of the Collexis® technology.
Development and marketing of the Collexis® technology is their focus. However, they are also aware of their societal obligations. They therefore grant free licenses to selected projects in developing countries.
Kirkland paid tribute to a number of individuals and organizations who were instrumental in bringing his company to South Carolina, including: the S.C. Department of Commerce, the S.C. Research Authority, the University of South Carolina, the City of Columbia Office of Economic Development, the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, the Central SC Alliance and EngenuitySC.
Founded in the Netherlands in 1999, Collexis has office locations throughout the United States and Europe, and its global headquarters is in The Netherlands.
