Comixpedia.org was created at the suggestion of Eric Burns, who was inspired by concerns regarding the varying interpretations of Wikipedia's rules for deletion, and that several webcomic entries being added to Wikipedia were being deleted soon afterward. Burns said that while a wiki would be an excellent resource for the growing webcomics field, Wikipedia seemed unwilling to accommodate all the information desired by avid fans.
