He graduated from the Command and GeneralStaffSchool (1928), was promoted to Major on June 20, and was ordered to the Personnel Section (of which he became chief in 1930), Office of Chief of Cavalry, in Washington, D.C. In 1929 he was Captain of the Cavalry Rifle and Pistol Team.
At the outbreak of WW 2, he was serving as an instructor at the Command and GeneralStaffSchool and in September, 1942 he became commanding officer of the 370th Regimental Combat Team of the 92d Division.
