Legal Status of International Non-Governmental Organizations in Europe (2525 words)
The original intention of the Legal Affairs Committee was to submit its opinion to the January 1985 part-session of the Assembly.
Thus the Committee was informed of the results of the 15th session of The Hague Conference on 20 October 1984 which resulted in the adoption of a Convention on the law applicable to trusts and on their recognition.
During the discussions in the Legal Affairs Committee it appeared that several members were rather critical of the vague wording in which some of the provisions of the Convention were couched.
Legal Affairs - Grievance Committee Manual (6620 words)
The purpose of this manual is to provide faculty/ EPA professional grievance committees and chairs with basic information on how to conduct grievance hearings that are efficient, effective and fair to all parties and to help committees hear and decide grievances in a manner that increases the likelihood that their decisions will be upheld.
The grievance committee acts as the agent of the Board of Trustees to hear and determine grievances brought by a faculty or EPA professional against an administrative officer.
A The committee should be careful not to simply substitute its judgment for that of the respondent(s) (e.g., the committee should not recommend that the grievant get tenure or a raise simply because the grievant's professional record could have justified a tenure appointment, or a greater pay raise).
