The Common Spotted Cuscus (Spilocuscus maculatus) is a cuscus (also known as a phalanger) is a marsupial animal that lives in the Cape York Peninsula region of Australia and New Guinea. The cuscus is about 50–100 cm (20-40 inches) long (including tail) and weighs 1.5–4 kg (3-9 pounds). The female is a creamy color and the male ranges from gray to rust-colored, often with contrasting splotches. It has a long, prehensile tail and lives in trees.
