As they grow, most (all?) living creatures instinctively evolve communication skills or strategies to try to fill their needs from other creatures. Communication skills begin to evolve automatically in infancy, and are largely shaped by the responses and communicaction behaviors of local caregivers.
Any verbal or nonverbal behavior that evokes a significant emotional, physical, or spiritual response from another person may be called "communication." Communication skills may be deemed effective if each person involved feels that their main current needs (a) are satisfied well enough, (b) in an acceptable or pleasing way.
Communication skills are the most essential tool we have to fill our social needs, yet paradoxically, few people study communication basics, options, blocks, or these seven learnable skills:
This communicationskills training activity enables participants to gain feedback on the effectiveness of their communication methods, and to establish the different styles of communication and the impact they have on others.
A communicationskills training resource to be used with participants to establish the importance of active listening as a key communicationskill and to give them the ability to increase the effectiveness of their listening skills.
A communicationskills training activity to encourage the use of effective questioning techniques and to establish the different types of questioning and the advantages and disadvantages of their use.
