The Communist Party of Argentina (Spanish: Partido Comunista de la Argentina) is a communist party from Argentina. It was founded in 1918.

It evolved into a liberal and anti-Peronist party, representative of a layer of the bourgeoisie in the 1940s, and remained generally the second party in importance in the country.
Parties in opposition to Peronism institutionalized the phrase ‘cabecita negra’ (Blackheads) referring to supporters of Peronism, mostly dark-skinned compared to the more white or light-skinned members of the middle class and the bourgeosie at the time.
The emergent military junta immediately implemented a plan, partially inaugurated under Isabel Perons government, of annihilation of left wing and working class activists and intellectuals: the "Dirty War." The military were in turn overthrown by mass unrest in 1982 after they led Argentina to defeat in the Malvinas war with Britain.
