Community Channel

Community Channel (http://www.communitychannel.org) broadcasts across the UK on digital cable (NTL and Telewest) and digital terrestrial television (Freeview), and also both the UK and Republic of Ireland on digital satellite television (Sky).


It is a not-for-profit, free to air channel owned by the Media Trust (http://www.mediatrust.org), a registered charity, its remit is to give a voice to community groups, charities of all sizes and not-for-profit organisations. It does this using news, current affairs, documentaries and lifestyle programming.


The channel is the official broadcast partner for Year of the Volunteer 2005 and aims to actively encourage volunteering across the UK throughout the year.
