Those parts of the metropolitan area that are not inside the CANCA have formed different intercommunal structures, such as:

  • Community of Agglomeration of the Middle Provence Country (Communauté d'agglomération du Moyen Pays Provençal): 65,614 inhabitants

  • etc.

As of the beginning of 2005, Cannes itself and the few communes around Cannes still refuse to join any intercommunal structure or to create one of their own.
