HongKongExchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) is the holding company of The StockExchange of HongKong Limited, HongKong Futures Exchange Limited and HongKong Securities Clearing Company Limited.
A company which is proposing to list in HongKong should, as an important part of the listing process, consider and plan for the post-listing requirements, in particular the strict corporate governance requirements, the onerous financial and other disclosure requirements and the controls on connected transactions.
The StockExchange may also require a breach to be remedied and may effectively force a director’s resignation by stating publicly that, in the opinion of the StockExchange, the retention of office by that director is prejudicial to investors.
Companies with a primary listing on the StockExchange are expected to present their annual report and accounts (which must be audited) in accordance with HongKong or international accounting standards.
