The regional historical archive of Montblanc was created on the 30th of July 1982 through an agreement signed by the Culture Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Town Council of Montblanc.
On the 8th of September, the official ordinance to create the archive was signed (it was published in the DOGC, number 263 on October the 1st, 1982).
From the moment of its creation and given its regional nature, the archive has the duty to safeguard, preserve, manage and assure the access and dissemination of the region's documental heritage produced by various corporations institutions and organizations in la ConcadeBarberà .
