Concord is a census-designated place located in Jefferson County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the CDP is 1,809.

Concord is located at 33°28'9" North, 87°2'17" West (33.469092, -87.038163)1.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 8.8 km˛ (3.4 mi˛). 8.7 km˛ (3.4 mi˛) of it is land and 0.1 km˛ (0.04 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 0.59% water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,809 people, 753 households, and 572 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 207.3/km˛ (536.6/mi˛). There are 790 housing units at an average density of 90.5/km˛ (234.3/mi˛). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.34% White, 0.28% Black or African American, 0.55% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.28% from other races, and 0.33% from two or more races. 0.28% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 753 households out of which 27.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.5% are married couples living together, 7.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.0% are non-families. 22.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.40 and the average family size is 2.81.


In the CDP the population is spread out with 19.8% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 27.2% from 45 to 64, and 18.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 91.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.3 males.


The median income for a household in the CDP is $52,665, and the median income for a family is $55,129. Males have a median income of $35,825 versus $26,406 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $23,191. 2.4% of the population and 1.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 0.0% of those under the age of 18 and 8.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
