In 1950, Concordia added a Junior College, and in 1968 girls were first admitted to Concordia High School. The number of general education students continued to grow, and an association of local Lutheran churches was formed to continue the high school without the support of the national church body. In 1962 Concordia achieved accreditation with the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. Fifteen years later, in 1977, Concordia separated from the high school and became a four year institution graduating its first baccalaureate students in 1980. Degrees & Programs Concordia University contains four colleges of study: the College of Education, the School of Management, the college of Health and Human Services, and the College of Theology, Arts and Sciences.
