The Hammerskins, or Hammerskin nations is a white supremacist Skinhead gang. Organized in 1989 in Dallas, Texas, it is considered one of the nation's most organized and dangerous skinhead groups. Although production and promotion of music touting white power is their primary focus, many of their members have committed hate crimes. Chapters currently exist in several countries, including Canada, England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the United States, New Zealand and Australia. Their logo, depicting two hammers arranged to resemble marching legs, is copied from that of a fictitious neo-nazi organization depicted in Pink Floyd's 1979 album, the wall, and the 1982 film based on the album. Their motto is "Hammerskins forever, forever Hammerskins". Both often adorn their paraphernalia and tattooed bodies. Like many such groups, the Hammerskins idealize historical warrior societies such as the Aryans, Vikings and Nazis. Hammerskin Nation is easily the best-organized skinhead group. A great many of its members have been convicted of harassing, assaulting and murdering non-Whites. Many white power bands are affiliated with Hammerskin Nation, and the sponsoring of concerts is the groups primary focus. Harassment is a term defined by law to refer to many types of behaviour that are found threatening or disturbing, and beyond those that are sanctioned by society. ...
