Connecticut State Troubadour is an honorary position, established in 1991 by the Connecticut Legislature. According to the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism, the State Troubadour "functions as an ambassador of music and song to encourage cultural literacy and promote the State of Connecticut." It is a two-year appointment and carries a stipend of US$5000 for the two years.
