[Chapter 17] Schedule Oaths and Affirmations

[Part 1] A. Oath or Affirmation of Allegiance

Oath: I, A.B., do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Republic of the Fiji Islands, according to law. So help me God! Affirmation: I, A.B., do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and affirm that I will faithful and bear true allegiance to the Republic of the Fiji Islands, according to law.


[Part 2] B. Oath or Affirmation for due Execution of Office of President or Vice-President

Oath: I, A.B., do swear that I will well and truly serve the Republic of Fiji Islands in the office of [ ]. So help me God! Affirmation: I, A.B., do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and affirm the will well and truly serve e the Republic of the Fiji Islands in the office of [ ].


[Part 3] C. Oath or Affirmation for due Execution of Office of Minister

Oath: I, A.B., being appointed Prime Minister/Attorney-General Minister/Assistant Minister, do swear that I will to the best of my judgment, at all times when so required, freely give my counsel and advice to the President (or any other person for the time being lawfully performing the functions of that office) for the good management of the public affairs of Fiji, and I do further swear that I will not on any account, at any time whatsoever, disclose the counsel, advice, opinion or vote of any particular Minister and that I will not, except with the authority of the Cabinet and to such extent as may be required for the good management of the affairs of Fiji, directly or indirectly reveal the business or proceedings of the Cabinet and that in all things I will be a true and faithful Prime Minister/Attorney-General/Minister/Assistant Minister. So help me God! I will in all things uphold the Constitution; and I will do right to all manner of people in accordance with the laws and usages of the Republic, without fear or favour, affection or ill will. So help me God! Affirmation: I, A.B., do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and affirm that I will well and truly serve the Republic of the Fiji Islands, in the office of [ ]. I will in all things uphold the Constitution; and I will do right to all manner of people in accordance with the laws and usages of the Republic, without fear or favour, affection or ill will.
