Conundrum press is the name of two book publishing companies in North America. One is located in Montreal, Canada, and was founded in 1995 by Andy Brown. Conundrum is renowned in Canadian publishing for its innovative, wide-ranging, often genre-defying, books of fiction, cultural history, graphic novels, spoken word and artist projects. Conundrum authors include Dana Bath, Marc Bell, Elisabeth Belliveau, Lance Blomgren, Shary Boyle, Howard Chackowicz, Joey Dubuc, Golda Fried, Corey Frost, Valerie Joy Kalynchuk, Liane Keightley, Catherine Kidd, Suki Lee, Amanda Marchand, Billy Mavreas, Chandra Mayor, Maya Merrick, Nathaniel G. The other Conundrum Press is in Crested Butte, Colorado, and was founded in 1998 by David J. Rothman. The American Conundrum Press is smaller and focuses on poetry of the American West, especially Colorado. Although its platform is regional, it has attracted a number of nationally and internationally known writers and its books have won several awards. Conundrum has published books by Burton Raffel, James Tipton (with a Foreword by Isabel Allende), Mark Todd (with a Foreword by Dana Gioia), Zsolt, and others.
