Cooma is a town in the south of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 120 kilometres south of the national capital, Canberra, via the Monaro Highway. The town has a population of approximately 8000.
Cooma is the main commercial centre of the Snowy Mountains region and the headquarters of the Snowy Mountains Scheme.
Cooma is situated at the junction of the Monaro Highway and the Snowy Mountains Highway.
