Coon Creek Township is a township located in Lyon County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 282.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 94.4 km² (36.4 mi²). 93.0 km² (35.9 mi²) of it is land and 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.43% water.
Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 282 people, 98 households, and 79 families residing in the township. The population density is 3.0/km² (7.9/mi²). There are 101 housing units at an average density of 1.1/km² (2.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 97.16% White, 0.35% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.48% from two or more races. 0.35% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 98 households out of which 40.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.4% are married couples living together, 5.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 18.4% are non-families. 18.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
