Coonabarabran is a town in Warrumbungle Shire in northwestern New South Wales, Australia, has about 3000 inhabitants, and was established in the 1850s. It is located on the Newell Highway and the Oxley Highway and can be reached in about six hours by car from Sydney. Coonabarabran is the gateway to the Warrumbungle National Park and the Pilliga Forest and has numerous motels, hotels and a video store.
