Encyclopedia > Coorg National Council

Coorg National Council, political party in the Indian state of Karnataka. Until 2000 the name of CNC was Kodagu Rajya Mukti Morcha (Kodagu State Liberation Front). CNC works for a separate Kodagu-Coorg state (an important coffee-producing region) , which would be formed out of a part of Karnataka. The party general secretary is N. U. Nachappa.
