Encyclopedia > Coos River

The Coos River is a river, approximately 60 mi (97 km) long, in southwest Oregon in the United States. It drains an important timber-producing region of the Coastal Range into Pacific Ocean.


It rises in western Douglas County, in the mountains west of Roseburg. It flows generally west through the mountains, entering the eastern end of Coos Bay on the Pacific, near the town of Coos Bay.
