Copley Township is a township located in Clearwater County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 859.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 88.1 km² (34.0 mi²). 87.6 km² (33.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.59% water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 859 people, 327 households, and 258 families residing in the township. The population density is 9.8/km² (25.4/mi²). There are 350 housing units at an average density of 4.0/km² (10.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 93.83% White, 0.00% African American, 4.07% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.12% from other races, and 1.63% from two or more races. 0.12% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 327 households out of which 35.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.4% are married couples living together, 9.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.1% are non-families. 19.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.63 and the average family size is 2.99.
