Before the Coq Roq first commercail, the website had a picture saying that "Groupies love the Coq" Which left people wandering what it was, then the commercail aired with a band with chicken like masks singing on stage about chicken fries, the extra long version (Which is on the website) shows the band beating up on a clown who presents them a box of chicken nuggets. (A knock off of Ronald McDonald)


The first few versions had the band singing the lyric "One Nation Under Chicken Fries." Which was changed to "One Kingdom Under Chicken Fries" Some believe that this was because it was Burger King, not a nation, others think it was controversy.

Slipknot ended up winning and BK showed a "Cross the road" Commercail (You can see it on the website.) Which involved the members of the band getting out of thier crashed limo and crossing the road to get to a girl with chicken fries on the other side. 3 out of the 4 members get run over and explode in a mess of feathers. That was the last known commercail featuring them. BK aired an ill-fated BK Chicken Fries rebel unit ad with superheros, but it failed to reach any demographic. So you can still hear the "One Kingdom Under Chicken Fries" Ad. But that's it. The lyric, No Coq Roq or anything.

AUGUST 17--Claiming that its image and persona have been hijacked as part of a marketing campaign for Burger King's new chicken fries, the costumed heavy metal band Slipknot is threatening the fast food giant with legal action.
Counsel for the band notes that Coq Roq--whose masked members are supposed to resemble badass chickens--has blatantly copied several of Slipknot's signature masks, including a gas mask, a kabuki-style face covering, and a mask with dreadlocks attached.
Coq Roq's lead guitarist, The Talisman, is pictured at left.
