ESPN is reporting this evening that the Dolphins have agreed to terms with free agent cornerback CoreyHarris to a 3 year deal for about $3 million with a signing bonus of around $1.5 million.
The Dolphins have been talking with Harris for several weeks and the Miami Herald was predicting this morning that Harris would sign by the end of the week.
Harris, at 5'11" and 200 lbs, is bigger than most of the Dolphins' defensive backs and current rumor has it that JJ will start him at safety instead of at cornerback.
Harris was originally signed as a free agent last spring to play safety for the Dolphins, but after starting 6 games for the team at safety last year, Harris was benched in favor of George Teague.
Harris was expected to compete for one of the starting jobs, but has not been able to unseat Sam Madison or Terrell Buckley.
The release of CoreyHarris comes as a surprise, since he was valuable for his experience as a defensive back and for his abilities on special teams.
